She wrote of her great joy that day: St. Therese of Lisieux, also popularly known as The Little Flower of Jesus, The Holy Face, and St. Therese of the Child Jesus is a patron saint for missionaries, aviators, and florists. On 2 January 1873, Marie-Francoise-Therese Martin was born in France.

At 15, she entered the Carmelite convent in Lisieux to give her whole life to God. Therese of Lisieux is one of the patron saints of the missions, not because she ever went anywhere, but because of her special love of the missions, and the prayers and letters she gave in support of missionaries. This is reminder to all of us who feel we can do nothing, that it is the little things that keep God's kingdom growing.
